Uganda Breweries Limited has signed a memorandum of understanding with Sightsavers to promote equal employment opportunities for differently abled people in the company and the labour market system.

Sightsavers is an international non-governmental organisation that works with partners in developing countries to treat and prevent avoidable blindness and promote equality for people with visual impairments and other disabilities.

Speaking during the MOU signing, Uganda Breweries Managing director said, “We are proud of this partnership that will see us champion inclusion and diversity. Uganda Breweries Ltd is an equal opportunities employer. The company embraces inclusion and diversity because we believe that it delivers business value. It helps us grow market opportunities because we can understand the diverse customer needs, and helps us to innovate/ develop breakthrough solutions to products and processes by utilising diversity of thinking.”

According to a Forbes article from September 2017, where the magazine researched inclusive decision making by analysing approximately 600 business decisions made by 200 different business teams in a wide variety of companies over two years, it was discovered that inclusive teams make better business decisions up to 87% of the time.
