Every Ugandan must now dream of working for Uganda Breweries Limited aka UBL.

We’ve learned that the company is now the first in Uganda to give its female employees upto 6 months of fully paid maternity leave. The male employees will have upto one month of paternity leave.

According to some corporates we asked around Kampala, “other companies should pick a leaf from UBL and make life easy for their female employees to raise families. Otherwise at the moment it is as though getting pregnant and having children is a punishment in some companies.”

We congratulate UBL on this big move. It is not easy being the first to take a big move!
