The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) has today indefinitely suspended local TV station, ABS TV’s broadcasting license.
In a letter dated 5th September, 2017 the national regulator accused the Pastor Yiga owned church of repeatedly breaching the law and the minimum broadcasting standards.
This comes days after the TV station shocked the nation with its news program that was laced with a strong sexual undertone.
The station had previously come under fire for its controversial show, Kalondozi, which forced UCC to take action, consequently serving it with a warning letter and a fine of Ugx 25 Million.
However, it appears that was not enough as they were soon back at their old game of controversial shows. The regulator has now temporarily revoked their license until they can put their house in order.
