UBC TV’s sister station, Magic 1 HD has been officially launched.
It was launched at an invite-only ceremony held at UBC offices on Friday evening which was graced by different players in the media business.
The ceremony also doubled as the 10th anniversary celebration for Magic 100 FM, which is also owned by UBC.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, UBC Managing Director Mr. Winston David Agaba explained that the new TV station was created to cater for the needs of Uganda’s youth, which accounts for over 68% of the total population.
“We have to reach and relate with our youthful audience. Within the UBC revamp process, production of compelling content is one of the key result areas. The partnerships we have made with local content producers have allowed to create a platform for them to grow but also to showcase their talent while giving our audiences the service and quality they expect. Magic 100 FM and Magic 1 HD are such platforms,” he stated.
Magic 1 HD is a youth-oriented TV station with a fresh new look boasting of youthful presenters and entertaining content packaged to meet needs of the youth.
