TV SHOW REVIEW: Here Comes Uganda’s Most Creative TV Show, Teen City!

A brainchild of the immensely talented Humphrey Wampula, the host, Teen City is adventurous dynamic show packaged not only for the teens but those young at heart!

An average Ugandan teen show rotates around the same old concept; presenters struggling to impress with clueless discussion;calling in segment to request a video or send shout outs; music videos here and there plus a once in a while coverage of events. Teen city does not belong to that crowded table, phew!

“The #SamsungTwitterParty is back! Get ready to party the night away come 19th December at Zone 7 with fellow tweeps. Entrance is 15,000shs. Call 0775439894 for details. Great music and drinks.”

A highly original concept; the show infuses lively interaction striking a balance between outdoor and indoor settings, satire , humor ,and dance, all packaged and wrapped with a feel-good family viewing ribbon on it covering four segments of the show.

“The Lounge”, an interactive segment ushers us into the 35-minute show with the host discussing with guests issues of teens against a swanky backdrop.

The second segment, “Press Play”, blends sarcasm and reality; a perfect recipe to crack you up. Humphrey’s creative juice oozes as he passes hilarious verdicts on music videos highlighting the blonde moments! You will be surprised hoe blonde your favourite celeb can be.

“School gigs,” the third pie on the cake rejuvenates you for the adrenaline raising ”Mob Raid” where B-boy dancers, literally, raid a public place, say restaurant, pulling jaw dropping moves amidst loud music to the shock and amusement of unsuspecting revelers. Unlike the first episode, where the ”mob raided” Nakumatt, I would love to see more of the priceless reactions of revelers as much as the dancing. This will turn the show from great to an iconic reference of creativity.

The show airs weekly on URBAN TELEVISION Saturdays 10:30am and repeat Thursdays same time.

A show that brings raw energetic adolescent blood to the silver screen, a must watch!
