2020 fast-raising singer Eric Opoka alias EeZzy is set for a meeting with the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) in matters related to his controversial ‘Tumbiza Sound’ song.
This follows a statement from Irene Ssewankambo, the Executive Director of UCC earlier this week confirming his invite to the commission headquarters in Bugolobi, Kampala on Tuesday 29, December 2020 at Mid-day.
The engagement will be between EeZzy in company of his other three representatives and UCC officials who seek to have a clear in-sight of the song lyrics as stated by the complaint.
“The complainant states that the Tumbiza Sound song contains messages contradicting the Ministry of Health Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on Covid-19 prevention,” a statement from UCC reads in part.
A scene from EeZzy’s Tumbiza Sound video
It should be recalled, last week the Ministry of Health wrote to the Uganda Communications Commission and Ministry of Information and Technology to ban the Tumbiza Sound song from all mass media.
The Ministry of Health song claims that EeZzy’s song lyrics possess messages contradicting to its Standard of Operation Procedures on COVID-19 prevention.
The song has in turn caused misinformation among different audiences and subsequently creating complacency among the public.
