Baru has been distributing a beat to different artistes for them to outwork themselves and kill it, as rappers would say. First, it is a darned good beat. You are tempted to follow the queue and write a few bars where you will rap on it, albeit amateurish. This has Tucker HD on it. Tucker HD is that little lad from the musical outfit, AirporTaxi. He is ranked highly. Actually, he is one of the best lyricists around. He has a way with words. He has away with weaving through lyrics and pegging them together in a way that will leave you giddy with admiration.
Redefinitions is a short beat. It is pithy and rushed. It requires one to have a working brain, a creative one at that, to really pull it off. Does Tucker pull it off? Sure he does. You will love this because Tucker completely goes haywire and bonkers on the beat. The opening lines will throw you off your stool, and the second verse will make you appreciate this lad’s creative juices. He raps in Luganda; something he is not fond of doing. I mean, when was the last time you heard Tucker HD rap in Luganda? Anyone? But he does so, here, effortlessly. Like he does this all the time. That he has been doing Luganda for yonks. And the speed with which he raps, my God, feels as though he is remote controlled. You will like the song because it shows how creative Tucker HD is. You will hate the song because it is a musical quickie; it is short. Very short it leaves you unquenched.
