Musicians who took part in the Tubonga Nawe Campaign that saw President Museveni retain his seat in State House have been under fire for some time now. Radio and Weasel have even been threatened with a show boycott as they get ready to stage their Omwaana Wa Bandi concert today.
Speaking about the boycott talk, Radio and Weasel revealed that they are not worried because Tubonga Nawe was a job which they did as they were supposed to. They revealed that their real fans will come for the show despite all the negative talk.
“It is up to them, this is not a free of charge show and it involves money. Those who have never supported us will never, someone must really love you to pay for your show and our fans have been doing this for years. Don’t waste time trying to impress people because you will never be loved by everyone,” Radio said about the threats of a possible boycott tonight.
Weasel then said that they have something to sell to Politicians as artistes but politicians can’t sell anything to them which is a point that people don’t understand. “What does a politician sell to you apart from lies and empty promises?” he asked.
Their show takes place tonight at Hotel Africana people’s space.
We will keep you posted.
