While some musicians in Uganda have been victimized over Tubonga Nawe project, others have capitalized on it.

The opposition leadership recently called for a boycott of all musicians that were part of the Tubonga Nawe project that saw President Museveni return to power, and this  seems to have opened doors for upcoming musicians to hold concerts after several top musicians chickened out of holding concerts.

Hindu Asha known for her songs like Gunyuma, Gumbutukide, Ekyija kyije has come out to announce that on 28th August she will hold her maiden concert at Theatre La’bonita in Kampala.

While speaking to Hindu, she informed us that this was the best opportunity to capitalise on since most of the top musicians were not able to schedule their concerts anywhere in this year.

“When there is no cat in the house, rats eventually will jump into the cups, it our time to shine though I can’t say we are in support of what’s making them put of their concerts but it’s working for some of us,” said Hindu Asha.
