As every one was busy trying to make merry during the festive season, Uganda Traffic Police just couldn’t drop its duties of charging traffic offenders and bagged Ugx 120 million in the process.
While addressing media earlier today, Stephen Kasiima, the Traffic police director said that police registered six deaths on 31st December due to accidents. “Many of the offenders where were drunk-drivers and those without permits,” he noted.
He however attributed the accidents to driving cars with damaged tyres and asserted that police will be inspecting every vehicle and boda boda that is more than 5 years old.
We will keep you posted.
