Kyambogo University may have strikes to blame plus its declining number of submitted research papers according to the current rankings of the top Uganda Universities and their rankings. Makerere University managed to top the list while Mbarara University of Science and Technology followed in the second position and Uganda Christian University in the third position. The source of the rankings is “webometrix” the only certified rankings organization in the whole world. It based its rankings on the number of research projects, innovations, quality of lectures, employability of graduates, quality of facilities among others.
On the whole, private Universities won the majority of public universities in the rankings. According to experts, private universities focused more on academics and had less chaos as far as strikes and fraud is concerned. Here is the full list of the best universities in Uganda.
