People say that to make it in this industry, on top of your talent, you have to be lucky. But the same people also say, luck comes with hard-work. In other words, the harder you work, the luckier you become. Success then is 10% talent, 40% Skill and 50% luck. So we introduce Uganda’s luckiest music artistes. Not that they have much to talk of when it comes to talent, but they are so lucky to be ignored, perhaps they are the kings of hustle. But we believe they have real luck, call it favour or grace.
1. Eddy Kenzo
Kenzo has all kinds of luck. No one would have imagined he would be one of Uganda’s top male artistes at the moment. Yet every song he releases, no matter how broken the English may seem, he’s always lucky to have a hit song out of it. I can’t say Kenzo is talented, that would be an insult to real talent, but when it comes to hustle and luck, this dude deserves credit. And he’s also lucky when it comes to ladies, Cindy and Rema can testify.
Overlooking his looks, if there’s one lucky Ugandan rapper, then that person is Gravity Omutujju. All of his songs have taken me by surprise when I see them topping the charts. He’s the real definition of children who are bathed in a basin of herbs aka Ekyogero.
3. Captain Dollar
To say that Captain Dollar is still releasing hit songs needs a supernatural explanation and only luck can complete this explanation. If Seya had Captain Dollar’s luck, he would have a Grammy award.
