2014 has not been a good year for some Ugandan musicians. While their counterparts were moving Uganda with their sweet music, these five musicians just disappeared from the scene and buried their heads in the sand like ostriches. Whatever happened to them? Presenting the top five musicians who flopped in 2014.

Iryn Namubiru

Iryn-Namubiru

Well, Namubiru tried all sorts of things this year, did collabos with everyone, even young boys like Kalifah Aganaga in a bid to appease the young crowd, but everything backfired. Her songs Temperature and Byansi failed to make it out as big hits leaving her in the shadows of the music industry. We have only heard about her because of her scandalous relationship with NTV Uganda’s Gabriel Epenu. What happened to you Iryn?

Vampino

vampino Kirya

Well, atleast Maurice Kirya has been very busy with his Sound Cup café hence a scape goat for his disappearance from the industry, but what happened to his brother Vampino? Despite releasing a lot of music, Vampos has not rocked the year 2014. The singer is said to have done some collaborations with Jamaicans, but we have not heard any of them on any radio station. Could it be that he is more Jamaican than Ugandan?

Margla Da Raggamuffin Gyal

Margla 1

Last we heard, Margla had graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Tourism, then came the news that she was pregnant and no news about her music. What happened to her in 2014? People used to enjoy her weird fashion and funny music. Could she have grown into a responsible woman and left the music industry? We wait her return in 2015.

Rabadaba

The only thing we know about Rabadaba is that he has a new acting gig with Urban TV. Even Don Mc who had vowed to help him out of the music ditch gave up on him. 2014 was clearly a bad year for him musically.

Grace Nakimera

Grace used to rock the industry when she had just started and everyone would have hope in Ugandan music. Whatever hit her in 2014 robbed us of this hope. We suspect her marriage problems could have disrupted her professional singing career. We also hear that she has decided to concentrate on her other projects and given music a break. Grace spends a lot of time in Namanve at the construction site of her new mansion. She has disappeared in thin air musically.

Other musicians who disappeared in thin air in 2014 include; Brenda Nambi, Bella, Micheal Ross, Sweet Kid and Zani.
