Uganda holds the record for the having the lowest average age of any nation on earth. This record was set on 31st December 2012 when it was revealed that the median age in Uganda was 15.1 years at the time.
Fastest Half Marathon: Jacob Kiplimo
This record was set by Ugandan athlete Jacob Kiplimo when he ran 21 kilometres in 57 minutes and 31 seconds on 21st November 2021. This is currently the fastest time someone has ran a half marathon in the world.
Most Physically Active Nation in the World
In September 2018, a study by the World Health Organization noted that Uganda had the most physically active population in the world. 94.5 percent of Ugandans were recognized as having at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise every week.
Most Thunder Days Per Year
In 1967, Tororo District in Uganda set the record of having the most thunder days per year in the world. Over the 10-year period of 1967 to 1976, Tororo registered 251 days of thunder per annum.
Most Aggressive Butterfly
Uganda is the country with the most aggressive butterfly species in the world. The butterfly is known as Charaxes candiope. This butterfly has been used to design military missiles based on the same style it uses on its intruders.
Youngest Reigning Monarch: King Oyo
Although King Oyo of Toro Kingdom will be making 32 years this year, in 2011, he was the youngest reigning monarch in the world. He was the first person to ascend to the throne at a mere age of 3 years old.
First Dwarf Giraffe in the world
On 30th December 2020, Uganda gave the world the first giraffe that showed signs of dwarfism. The giraffe measured in at 9 feet and 3 inches and was first observed in Murchison Falls National Park.

On 30th July 2023, Apostle Grace Lubega of Phaneroo Ministries led his faithful in the longest applause. The applause was for Jesus and it lasted 3 hours and 16 minutes.

On 16th January 2024, Faith Patricia Ariokot hugged a tree for 16 hours and 6 seconds thereby making it the longest time a human has hugged a tree. Ariokot intended to encourage more people to plant trees.
Largest Ugandan Rolex: Raymond Kahuma
In Kasokoso, Raymond Kahuma gathered people to make the world’s largest Ugandan rolex on 4th November 2021. The rolex weighed 204.6 kilograms and took almost a day to knead and roll.

Ugandan giraffes always have a surprise for the world. In 1902, Uganda’s Rothschild giraffe was recorded to have five ossicones.

When the Israeli forces landed at Entebbe Airport on 4th July 1976 to rescue some Israeli hostages, it became the shortest mission in the world. The rescue took 2 hours to be completed.
