Kampala Capital City Authority FC captain, Tom Masiko scored the only goal of the game to hand victory to the Kasasiro Boys in the ongoing CECAFA Kagame Club Championship.

With both teams having lost their first games, the two sides all looked hungry for victory. KCCA lost 1-0 to Azam fc in their first game on Sunday while Adama City lost to Malakia by 2-1 leaving the two sides pointless in Group C.

With such expectations, the game started off at a slow pace but tension between the two sides was evident as the game carried on. KCCA created more chances in the first 45mintues, however their failure to convert these chances led to a barren first half with Adama City also failing to utilise their few opportunities.

In the second half, Adama City’s goalkeeper fouled Derrick Nsibambi in the forbidden area leaving the center referee with no choice but to point to the spot.

Team skipper Tom Masiko made no mistake to convert the 12 yard shot in the 69th minute that give KCCA their first victory at this year’s tournament.

However, KCCA FC assistant Coach Sam Ssimbwa insists that the changes in the Squad will keep happening depending on how the team we will be playing.

“The changes we made in the squad were key and good but that doesn’t mean we will keep the same team in all our matches. We’ll be changing according to the day,” Ssimbwa revealed to the club’s official website.

“We have been training penalties, I wasn’t nervous even a single bit. I knew I’d put it in,” team captain Tom Masiko told the KCC website upon being question whether he was nervous about taking the penalty.

KCCA’s final game of the group stages will be against Malakia at the National Stadium in three days’ time.
