Kampala Capital City Authority’s (KCCA) preparations for the CAF Champions’ League preliminary round have suffered yet another blow as attacking midfielder, Tom Masiko, joined the piling list of injuries ahead of their Valentine’s Day tie with Cameroon’s Cosmos De Bafia.
“The midfielder pulled a hamstring over the weekend and missed the team’s training session on Monday morning,” reads a statement on the club’s official website.
The injury leaves the attacking midfielder a big doubt for the Saturday clash though head coach Abdallah Mubiru remains optimistic he could return back just in time for the clash. In his words, Mubiru said, “It’s a hamstring and that takes some days but we are waiting for the medical report. He is an important team player but if he fails to recover in time, we have possible replacements.”
The defending champions of the Uganda Premier League are set for a first leg clash with Cosmos De Bafia in the CAF champions’ league at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole but the team has continued to suffer injury blows as they proceed with preparations for the tie.
Tom Masiko now joins the list of new signings Francis Olaki and Savio Kabugo plus winger Michael Birungi who are all down with injury.
