Last weekend was horrible for singer Christopher Evans Kaweesi also known as Chris Evans.
The singer who was coming from a show was waylaid by thugs who robbed him and he was lucky to get out alive. Unluckily for one of the thieves, it was the end of the road for him as his 40 days of thievery had come to an end. He was grabbed by a mob, beaten and burnt alive.
Chris told us; “Yesterday night I was blocked by thieves while on my way back from a show at Kiyindi Lugazi just 1km from the show, but God is great am still alive. I managed to run and hid in the bush where I spent the night. They only took my money that I left in the car. Some of my fans who were coming from the show were beaten and left ill besides the road. It was police that helped and shot bullets in d air so that the thieves could scatter. Some residents caught and burnt one of the thieves. I will never forget yesterday in my life. I was about to die without a will.”
At BigEyeUg we urge the public to desist from mob justice and let law enforcement do their work.
