Three former champions of the Africa Cup of Nations seeded in the same group

Three former Africa Cup of Nations winners will clash in Group C at the forth coming 2015 AFCON that will be hosted in Equatorial Guinea. The one month long tournament is set to kick-off on the 17th of January and run until 8th February 2015.

Group C has been largely described as the group of death after three former champions of the tourney were seeded with a fourth giant but has never won the title.

The group consists of 4-time champions, the ‘Black Stars’ of Ghana (1982, 1978, 1965 & 1963), the ‘Bafana Bafana’ of South Africa (1996), the ‘Desert Foxes’ of Algeria (1990) and the Senegal

Full Draw:

Group A – Equtorial Guinea, Congo, Gabon, Burkina Faso

Group B – Zambia, DR Congo, Cape Verde, Tunisia

Group C – Ghana, Senegal, South Africa, Algeria

Group D – Ivory Coast, Mali, Cameroon, Guinea
