This year’s Shebang Fashion Show confirmed for next Sunday

On the 28th of May 2023, fashion enthusiasts from all over Kampala will converge at the Circular Design Hub Bugolobi to witness the Shebang Fashion Show. The event is to raise awareness about sustainable fashion and mental health in relation to menstrual health challenges while showcasing the talent of some of the most promising designers in the city.

The show will feature seven designers, each of whom brings a unique perspective to the runway. Allen Nabukenya of Njola Impression is known for her bold, prints that are inspired by the rich cultural heritage of Uganda. Katende Godfrey of IGC Fashion, on the other hand, is known for his sophisticated designs that are perfect . Mukasa Najib of Bobbin Case Clothing focuses on creating clothing that is both comfortable and practical, while Musema Robert of Msema Culture draws inspiration from the natural world to create designs that are both beautiful and sustainable.

Other designers include Fiona Naigwe of My Fashion Biography, who is known for her playful, whimsical designs, and Hilda Babirye of Curiosity Arc, who specializes in creating sustainable fashion . Each of these designers brings a unique perspective to the runway, and their designs are sure to captivate and inspire all those who attend the show.

But the Shebang Fashion Show is about more than just fashion. The event also aims to raise awareness about mental health, an issue that is often overlooked in the fashion industry. The organizers believe that fashion and mental health are closely linked, and that by promoting sustainable fashion and raising awareness about mental health, they can help create a more compassionate and sustainable world.

The Circular Design Hub 5th Street Bugolobi as an implementing partner is hosting the show. The hub is a space for designers, innovators, and entrepreneurs to collaborate and create sustainable solutions to some of the world’s most pressing problems. By hosting the Shebang Fashion Show, the hub is helping to promote sustainable fashion and mental health, while showcasing the talent of some of the city’s most promising designers.
