A couple of weeks ago, Tanzanian crooner Diamond Platnumz brought social media to a standstill as he hinted on flying American socialite Amber Rose to Tanzania for his label’s event dubbed ‘Wasafi Beach Party’.
However, the singer and his label introduced a twist by passing Amber Rose over Vera Sidika and her archenemy Al Huda Njoroge alia Huddah Monroe. Temperatures rose as the entire East African community looked forward to a fierce showdown. Vera and Huddah were unveiled as the event’s official hosts in posters that did crazy rounds on social media. Kenyans grabbed their pop corns, while those who could, caught their next flights to Tanzania to experience the ‘catfight’ first hand.
24th December came and all was set for the Wasafi Beach Party . However, Huddah Monroe was no show to perform her duties. The controversial socialite turned business woman had bailed out on the event in the eleventh hour, a move that was seen as ‘coward’ by most people who were following the ‘looming hazard’ closely. Vera, on the other hand was present and hosted the event alongside Uganda’s Anita Fabiola.The two-day event went on and registered full bookings on both days as thousands of Wasafi’s fans thronged the Jangwani Sea Brezee Resort in Dar Es Salaam to celebrate Xmass with their stars.
Huddah Monroe has emerged to redeem herself barely two days after the event. The socialite took to snapchat to explain why she didn’t turn up for the Wasafi Beach Party.
‘’The Last event is coz Diamond and I didn’t agree on some issues. So I cancelled last minute. That’s the main reason.’’ Huddah’s snapchat read.
