The Youth in Afrika Awards Announces Expansion of Its Categories

The Youth in Afrika Awards (YIAA) is proud to announce the expansion of its categories to include four dynamic categories dedicated to the creative industry, a sector that has become a vital source of employment and innovation for African youth.

With the creative economy generating an impressive USD 3.5 billion in 2024, it’s clear that this industry has come of age.

Nomination Time is Here!

We invite you to submit your name and work or nominate your favorite artists and content creators from across Africa.

The nomination process is now open, and we’re excited to see the talented individuals who will make it to the top.

Categories for Creatives:

  • Best Artist in Africa: Celebrating outstanding artistic talent on the continent
  • Best New Artist in Africa: Showcasing emerging talent and fresh perspectives
  • Best Content Creator in Africa: Honoring innovative content creators who are shaping the digital landscape
  • Lifetime Achievement Award: Recognizing individuals who have made significant contributions to the creative industry

Important Dates:

  • Nominee List Release: October 13, 2025
  • Nomination Closure: November 4, 2025

YIAA has been held before in Nairobi, Kenya in 2021, Accra, Ghana in 2022, Durban, South Africa in 2023 and Goma, DRC in 2024. This year it will be held in Moroni, Comoros on November 22nd 2025 at the National Assembly( Parliament) of Comoros.
