Music has always been characterised by feuds and quite often some wrangles grow intense and even drag on for years. The local music industry has been no stranger to such beefs. Here is a list of some of the outstanding beefs in the local music scene.
Navio Vs Atlas:
The hunky rappers in the industry of music do not seem to approve of each other’s rapping style and that sparked off the beef. And this has gone too far, even getting physical at some point, there is a time they exchanged blows outside Club Rouge. Babes at these hunks’ concerts usually scream out there lungs at their shows partly because the guys hot among other reasons. But seriously guys, hip hop ain’t about beef, whoever got better bars and punch lines will always win the race.
Bobi Wine Vs Bebe Cool:
Simple back ground, “omubanda wa kabaka” comes from a humble background and the “kokkodiosis” singer is a son to a former Minister Bidandi Ssali and both of these guys have battled lyrically to come through to the lime light.
The kerfuffle has been the most intense in the pearl of Africa’s entertainment industry. This is self-evident from the songs they have done; almost half of the songs these guys have sung in their lives were backing & dissing each other holding concerts on the same dates in competing locations.
Surprisingly the beef didn’t just start yesterday. Hell broke loose when these guys parted ways, way back in the ’90s, Bebe Cool seceded from their original group―the Firebase Crew and since then no one has looked back. And everyone wants to show supremacy over other, they have gone as far as cruising posh cars and not to mention erecting mansions just to prove a point to each other. To spice things up a little, they have grabbed names to describe their statuses one called the “Gladiator” and the other saying that whatever it is and you do, am the “Big Size”.
Well, whatever it is, fans know who does it better than who, so if u made up, shared a meal and threw a bomb at us in form of a collabo, it wouldn’t be that bad after all.
Chameleone Vs The Goodlyfe:
The good life is essentially made up of the dynamic duo, Weasel TV and Mozey Radio. We are all aware that Weasel is from the Mayanja Family i.e. he is a brother to Chameleon. It all started when Chameleone, as a brother who wishes well his sibling, introduced Weasel to the music industry and made him part of the Leone Island crew. This is where he met Radio and it was not long before they decided to quit Leone Island to form the Goodlyfe crew.
According to their mentor, Jose, he says he wished them nothing else but success but the “Magnetic” boys don’t seem to agree with him claiming their mentor was a slayer. They accuse him of acting his name (Chameleon) that he changes all the time & more so treating them cruelly and so they don’t owe anything to the Dr. They have dissed him in a couple of their songs like “Chamila de teacher” and surprisingly his old enough not to hit back with a blow rather he does it politely saying “Tebasiiga nsigo”.
So, we ask you kindly to give due respect to the person who brought you thus far and concentrate more on making more hit songs.
