The Big Bang Theory is to return for an eighth season, the head of CBS has said.
Les Moonves seemed to confirm the show’s renewal in a recent conference call.
The Big Bang Theory traditionally airs on Thursday nights, but Moonves stated that the next season would likely shift to another slot to make way for Thursday Night Football.
The CEO also seemingly confirmed a third season of Elementary – stating that the Jonny Lee Miller detective series, which also airs on Thursdays, would again be shifted to a new night.
Once CBS’s eight-game Thursday Night Football schedule has concluded, both shows will then return to their traditional time-slots.
The new seasons of The Big Bang Theory and Elementary are still expected to premiere in the fall as usual.
