The 3rd Annual Ugandan Diaspora Social Networking gala

The 3^rd annual Ugandan Diaspora Social Networking Gala will be held at the swanky Serena hotel in Kampala, on 30^th December 2013.

The Ugandan Diaspora Social Networking Gala was created out of the desire by Ronnie Mayanja who is a Ugandan USA business based man to recognize the contributions of Ugandans living abroad and to celebrate their achievements.This Networking gala will help to build synergies that will not only lead to private and government partnerships, but inspire the nation to pursue even greater heights as a people whilst encouraging brain gain. Some of the people we intend to recognize this year will include Winnie Byanyima the new Executive Director — Oxfam International, Mr. Patrick Masambu the Deputy Director International Satellite Agency, Ambassador Rhoda Tumusiime of the African Union, Ntare Guma the Ugandan American Hollywood Movie star who was featured in the movie Blood Diamonds and many other television series like HEROES, BONES, ER, and CSI. Entertainment will feature seasoned entertainers like Isaiah Katumwa, Exodus, Fashion Designer – Doreen Faith, Ras Kasozi and Joe Malaika the latter designer will fly in from the USA. We shall also pay homage to Maama Irene, the founder of the Irene Gleeson Foundation who passed away this year but whose work with the kids in Northern Ugandan still lives on.

This year’s event will be conducted in conjunction with South African based – Home Coming Revolution trying to encourage the repatriation of Ugandans living abroad.

We also enjoy a great working relationship with the Uganda Investment Authority and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Our Patron in Prof. Dr. Maggie Kigozi former Executive Director – UIA.
