Gipiri will clash with Labongo today at the Metha stadium in Lugazi when five time record champions Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) host the defending champions Kampala Capital City (KCC) who have also won it for two consecutive seasons now.
While the reigning champions KCC have had a tremendous run of the season so far under the charges of both the now departed George ‘Best’ Nsimbe and newly promoted Abdallah Mubiru, the same can’t be said of the “Tax collectors” under the charges of Alex Isabirye who is on his second spell at the club.
The “Kasasiro Boys” have won 7 games, drawn 3 and lost just one, conceding only 5 goals in the process and scoring 18 of them in a bid to defend their title, leaving them 2nd on the table with 24 points and 5 points behind table leaders Vipers.
URA have won just 4 games, drawn 5 and lost 2, with the most recent being a 3-2 upset by bottom tabled Rwenshama, in their 11 matches of the season played so far leaving them 6th on the log with 17 points. They, however, have the highest scoring rate of 2 goals per match but also their way on conceding is alarming. They have conceded 12 goals more than any other side in the top ten of the UPL.
