Okay I will try not to exaggerate. I will certainly keep it real and not get carried away. Such is the talent of this girl that you might get swayed away. Just a bit. The lady in question is Naava Grey. Yes, you might have heard of her. If you haven’t, run to your nearest music provider and get a copy of her music already.
A product of the Tusker Project Fame; she has managed to cut a niche in the music industry the past two years. Unlike other talented artistes that have struggled to drop the Talent show tag, she has made a name for herself. (Its unfortunate musicians who have come out of talent shows never have successful careers)
A burgeoning Rnb artiste who never drops an English word in her songs but trust her songs have so much International appeal. If she is not praising her loved one, she is begging a loved one to return to her.
Well, that sounds so cliché but she does it so well with well written lyrics, vocals to die for and impeccable production. Songs like Aliba Wani, Nteredde, Ndiwano have got people to start mentioning her in the same breath as more established female artistes like Juliana Kanyomozi.Yes deservedly so. Radios normally have shunned mainstream RNB bust have struggled to shun hers as she blends RNB with afro sounds to great effect. Fenon Records has been responsible for most of her production work with guys like Legend P mixing songs like Nteredde. Talent never flies on its own but with great support, her powerful voice can only project further.
She is currently riding on Ninga Omuloge that has been received positively on radios and has also got notice in the forthcoming Club Video Music Awards.Naava is leading a new crop of talented female artistes that are taking the industry by storm. Watch out for her.
