Ever heard of the Ugandan music octopus, well this musical octopus used to predict every PAM AWARD winner, and now the octopus is back with the Club Music Video Award winners. This is the first of its kind, 100% sure prediction. So, in case you don’t plan on attending, we have you covered weeks before the event. Here are the winners of the Club Music Video Awards (CMVAs):
1. Best Choreography: This will be won by King for ‘Work-it-out’ by Maurice Kirya. However, if the results get altered a bit, Ken Sewanyana (Kings Dancing Group) will scoop it for Cocodiosis by Bebe Cool. The only way Bebe Cool’s video will win, will be for the publicity of the awards. Otherwise, it’s Maurice Kirya on this one.
2. Best Cinematography: One of the Amaru videos is scooping this award, and it’s most likely Stay will scoop it. There is also a chance that Fred Kigozi for the video One and only by Navio may take it. This is a tight category. But bet your money on Stay by Amaru.
3. Best Costume and Make-Up: No questions, Kata by Navio is taking this award. This is a signed, stamped and sealed part. No challenger here.
4. Best Directing: I am afraid to say, Adio Ash for the video Stay by Amaru is scooping this one again. It’s in its own league.
5. Best Set Design: Another competitive category, but don’t be surprised when Dj Bobby for the video 18 and Over by Bakri scoops this one.
6. Best Special Effects: Navio is taking this with his Kata video. But for the sake of balancing the awards, Atarodo films which did Ninga Omuloge by Naava Grey may take this award.
7. Best Use Of Technology: Gasuza for the video Shine by Dj Global, Lilian, Ruyonga, patrobas, Big Thrill and the Mith is taking this one. Let’s move on.
8. New Comer of the Year: Stay by Amaru is still unchallenged. Buki Buki by Solja would have stood a chance but giving such a video a nod would not be good for the Club Brand at the start. So it’s Amaru and if this fails, then Naava Grey will take it for her Nteredde song.
9. Inspirational Message Video of The Year: Ragga Dee is taking this for the katonda Kyasalawo music video. It’s a super inspirational video.
10. Collaboration of the Year: Regular by Toniks and Navio is scooping this one. Great visuals, great combination, and a few flaws compared to the other videos in this category.
11. Best Duo or Group: Radio and Weasel are winning this one with the Fantastic music video. None of the other video matches up.
12. Female Video of The Year: Let’s say this is one of those unpredictable categories. But Keko does not stand a chance here. The real battle is between Naava (Nteredde) and Amaru (Stay). If Cindy or Keko’s videos win this award, it will be about pleasing every party. Otherwise, Octopus sees Stay by Amaru winning this.
13. Male Video of The year: Navio is taking it for male video of the year considering that KATA music video really has that Ugandan connection to it and one look at it, you feel the Ugandan culture.
In Summary, Amaru is likely to scoop most of the awards and Navio will follow on. Maurice Kirya is one of those who may have at least two awards at the event. That’s from Octopus, keep referring to this list.
