Ugandan billionaire Sudhir Ruparelia revealed his brand new 6 billion shilling mansion to the media and public on Eid. The Ruparelia group boss who has been living in Kabira Country Club for nearly two years revealed why it took him so long to build the palacial mansion.
Sudhir who recently featured on Forbes Magazine list as East Africa’s number one and Africa’s 22 richest men said that he had not yet come across the building materials that he wanted for the house hence the delay.
“When we were building this house in the early 1980s, it was hard to get in materials to build the kind of house I would have wanted, and locally not much variety of high quality building materials were available at the time,” Sudhir said.
The new mansion was built using both local materials and those imported from Dubai, Europe and America. The interior design was done by designers from the UK.
We are told that Sudhir’s wife kept kept changing architects in order to get an exclusive home and the final product is truly worth it.
