At the Mandela National Stadium, SCVU’s Mathew Odong scored the only goal that brought an end to Police FC’s unbeaten run in the Uganda Premier League (UPL) on match day seven.

Angelo Lonyesi’s side, Police FC, was enjoying an exquisite start of their new campaign in which they had won three and drawn three of their six league opening fixtures, but all this came to an end yesterday at Namboole Stadium as they lost to struggling Sports Club Victoria University (SCVU) who had not won a game in their last five games or even scored a single goal.

After a barren first half in a tight game on the evening, 10-man SCVU managed to edge Police with an 80th minute goal from Mathew Odong to give the hosts their second win of the season since opening day and also relieve Morley Byekwaso of some pressure that was piling on him.

Police FC have now dropped to 4th position on the UPL table with 12points from 7 games while Victoria University move from 11th to 9th position with 9points from 7games.
