Ugandan entrepreneur Ham Kiggundu has revealed an exciting array of performers and activities for the highly anticipated grand opening of Nakivubo Stadium on Saturday, June 1, 2024.

The event promises to be a spectacle with renowned artists and thrilling sports matches lined up to captivate audiences.

Among the stellar performers slated for the grand opening is Rema Namakula, alongside a lineup featuring celebrated acts such as Eddy Kenzo, Jose Chameleone, Pia Pounds, Sheebah Karungi, and Bebe Cool. Adding to the entertainment quotient, comedians Madrat and Chicko will also grace the stage with their comedic flair.

The festivities will not be limited to music alone, as Nakivubo Stadium gears up to host a variety of test matches across multiple sports disciplines. Football enthusiasts can look forward to riveting encounters including URA FC vs. Kitara FC and Express FC vs. SC Villa. Kickboxing fans will witness Umaru Semata take on Moses Golola, while basketball aficionados can enjoy clashes between KIU Titans and JT Jaguars, as well as Nam Blazers against UCU Canons.

Nakivubo Stadium, a multi-purpose arena boasting a state-of-the-art design, stands as a testament to Kiggundu’s vision and investment in Uganda’s infrastructure. The stadium’s commissioning event on April 25 saw President Yoweri Museveni commending Kiggundu for his forward-thinking approach.

President Museveni praised Kiggundu’s dedication to progress, stating, “Kiggundu is a young man who emerged as the NRM came to power, and he truly embodies the NRM spirit through his innovation and drive for prosperity in Uganda.”

The President emphasized Kiggundu’s ‘can-do’ attitude, applauding his swift and decisive actions in revitalizing the stadium. “We don’t waste time; a slow decision can be fatal,” added President Museveni.

Nakivubo Stadium, also known as Nakivubo War Memorial Grounds, is poised to become a landmark venue in Uganda, thanks to Kiggundu’s unwavering commitment to development and progress.
