Stanbic Bank’s Excellence recognized at Digital Impact Awards

Stanbic Bank, Uganda’s leading financial services institution, won two awards at The Digital Impact Awards held on Wednesday at the Kampala Serena Hotel. The bank was recognized as having the Best Corporate website and the Most Promising Social Media Embrace in Uganda.

Running under the theme “Maximizing the Digital Dividend”, the Digital Impact Awards focuses on recognizing achievements made by companies in digital and financial inclusion and Cyber-security.

“Winning these awards is a fantastic achievement that confirms that our technology driven strategy is yielding results. The Digital Impact awards are a brilliant means of showcasing the efforts that Ugandans are taking to embrace the Digital Journey throughout Africa. It is clear that Technology equates Convenience and organisations that do not embrace it will be left behind by their customers.” said Veronica Sentongo, Stanbic Uganda’s Head of Digital banking.

“Stanbic bank is a customer-centric bank that is always looking at the most innovative ways of putting the customer increasingly in control of their overall banking experience. Technology plays a big part of this which is the reason the bank has made considerable investments in a new online banking platforms and self-service innovations”.

“Most recently we introduced the Stanbic smart App which provides our customers across the African region with a single-view platform for all interaction with the services offered by the bank. Customers can access their business and personal accounts as well as insurance, wealth management, stockbroking activities and pay bills (e.g. water, electricity and PayTV). They can also do account transfers within Stanbic and to other banks in one go. Functionalities include; comprehensive beneficiary management, payments to phone contacts and cash withdrawals without a card.”

“The lifestyle patterns of our clients are changing, mobile communications devices are playing and increasingly influential role in our personal and professional lives. Stanbic believes we have key role to play in that lifestyle transformation by providing financial solutions that are relevant to the world we live and the one unfolding in front of us.”

Veronica thanked the management, staff and especially Stanbic customers for the loyalty and support they have given the bank over the past 12 months and promised even greater technological innovations going forward to unveil a plethora of exciting innovations going forward.
