It all started three weeks ago when Lawrence Labeja, the manager of the Goodlyfe crew, signed for 7 millions shillings. This money was paid to ensure that Radio and Weasel perform in Gulu where President Museveni was a Chief Guest. Four Members of Parliament witnessed Lawrence signing for the money and assuring Balaam that come that day, his artistes would put up the best performance. Balaam asked that Radio specifically does the ‘Neera’ song for the President as it’s going to be his campaign song.
When the day came, Lawrence’s phone went off and the Goodlyfe Crew were nowhere to be seen. The organizing committee could not believe that they had been fooled to this extent by Uganda’s most successful duo.
Balaam Baruhagare then decided on the next course of action. This was to get Lawrence to refund his money. But Lawrence played adamant and claimed there was no refund to be made. Balaam then ran to Police where he filed a case. Lawrence was arrested a day to the Goodlyfe concert that took place at Hotel Africana. He was detained at Jinja Road Police Station until the 7 million was paid to ensure his freedom.
Out of anger, Mowzey Radio chose the Goodlyfe concert as an opportunity to blast Balaam. He boldly branded him a big fool that wants to see the Goodlyfe collapse by tarnishing their good name.
As a way to teach Radio and Weasel a lesson, Balaam has thus banned them from all events organized by him. And that was the case on Saturday at Festino City during the motor sprint. Radio was denied entry to Festino city. Balaam seems to be keeping his word when it comes to disciplining the duo.
