Spice Diana has spoken out on the growing issue of double-dealing and song theft in the music industry, advising fellow artists to always document their dealings with songwriters to protect their work.

Her comments come in the wake of the ongoing controversy involving singers Sheebah Karungi, Ava Peace, and Jowy Landa, whose songs “Nobody” and “No One” have been caught in a storm of ownership disputes.
“This has been happening for a while. Everyone is looking for survival, but it’s not good,” Spice Diana noted during a recent interview after her performance at Comedy Store.
She emphasized the importance of working with trusted and professional songwriters who understand the value of their craft.
“I personally work with just a few writers. I only work with those I am sure of, those who know the value of such work, like King Saha and Nince Henry,” she explained.
Spice further pointed out that most cases of double-dealing stem from inexperienced or upcoming writers who may not fully appreciate the process of music creation and the financial investment artists make.
“New writers usually don’t know what it takes to create a song and how much we invest. They look at the money you pay as little and end up double-dealing,” she added.
Her remarks serve as both a warning and a call for more structure and professionalism in the local music industry, especially when it comes to songwriting and music rights.
