Local musician Spice Diana is well on her way to completing her studies.
We have learnt that the “Njabala” singer, who is pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Industrial and Fine Arts at Makerere University, is in the final semester of her 3-year program. The singer has revealed that it has not been an easy journey as she has had to juggle between her music career and school.
“It has been a tiresome journey juggling between music and school because they are both very demanding,” she said, adding that her secret to successfully managing the two was proper time management. “I tried so much to do what I needed to do at the right time. If it was time for school, I would give it 100 percent, and the same went for the music.”
If all goes well, Spice Diana, who majored in Fashion Design, will be one of the graduands at Makerere University’s 68th graduation ceremony to be held in 2018. She opened about her plans after finishing school, asserting that she will not sit on the knowledge she acquired in school.
“I can now do my own costumes as well as design my dancers. I designed my outfit in ‘Njabala’ music video,” she proudly revealed. “The skills I acquired in school are now complementing my music.”
“I also hope to open up a fashion school when I finally complete school so that I can share these skills with the rest of the world, ” she added.
