Spice Diana Advocates Against Colliding Concert Dates, Cites Respect and Support for Fellow Artists

Spice Diana has voiced her concern over the growing trend of artists scheduling their concerts on the same date as others.

The singer, who has been in the industry for a decade, expressed her disappointment after learning that a fellow prominent artist had decided to hold a concert on the same date as hers.

The upcoming concert, slated for next year, is a special one for Spice Diana as it will mark her 10-year anniversary in the music industry.

Over the years, she has been a strong advocate for artist solidarity, going the extra mile to support her fellow musicians. Whether it’s buying tickets, purchasing tables, or even performing for free at their shows, Spice Diana has consistently shown her support.

She emphasized that this culture of mutual respect and backing has been part of the Ugandan music scene for a long time. However, recent developments have seen individuals who consider themselves business-savvy disregard this tradition, often justifying their actions as a financial strategy.

In her view, concert dates shouldn’t collide because it not only shows disrespect but also undermines the hard work of fellow artists. Diana, who has experienced the effort required to plan and execute a successful concert, explained that having a competitor schedule a show on the same day feels like a personal attack.

“I don’t know who brought the art of staging a concert on the same date as a way of making money. It is not good; it shows how someone is disrespectful and also shows how you don’t want another artist to be successful. I think artists need to have different dates of concerts,” she said.
