Find out information about Coronavirus in Uganda. More here.

Uganda is referred to as one of the countries with the best night life in Africa; there are great clubs in major towns across the country, however Ugandan clubs don’t make it on the list of the top 5 clubs in Africa.

The top 5 night destinations in Africa include;

1. Club 31 – Cape Town, South Africa

2. Coconuts – Maputo

3. Mozambique, Nite Shift Coliseum – Lagos, Nigeria

4. The Simba Saloon at Carnivore – Nairobi, Kenya

5. Le Privilege – Lome, Togo

Most night life destinations in Uganda don’t last to celebrate their first anniversary, living only 2 clubs namely Club Silk and Angenoir discotheque, to dominate the entertainment industry in Uganda, but this is not the case in South Africa.

South Africa is one country with many clubs whether you are talking townships or city suburbs, downtown or semi-rural, you will find nightclubs in every South African town and city. Each city has its own identity and a nightlife that reflects this personality, catering for a wide range of musical tastes.

Africa’s top night destination, Club 31

South Africa’s nightclubs offer an excellent example of how the country’s heritage and culture have combined to create a huge range of nightlife entertainment that caters for every taste and style.

When one refers to South Africa as the rainbow nation, one might as well be referring to its many faces of fun as much as it’s ethnic and biodiversity.

These South African nightclubs cater for the entire range of musical and stylistic tastes of South Africans as well as those of the visitors. You will find jazz and salsa clubs next door to a house and clubs playing rock, hip-hop, punk or heavy metal.

Traditional music clubs, pop music clubs, theme bars and retrospective clubs all exist. If you have a special interest, you will find a nightclub catering for it somewhere in South Africa.

Ugandans who intend to invest in night clubs should take a trip to South Africa and learn some tips on how to manage night clubs and bars, in order for them to last on the market.

Gabriel K in Concert

By Staff Writer

Gabriel K will perform a livestreamed solo concert on Saturday 20th June in a new trend of online concerts being done by a number of musicians.

In what he has termed as “We Just Want Love” Concert, it will be an hour’s performance that will be streamed on his social media handles and a host of many other sites that have been engaged to carry the same.

In a twist that lends this an edge over the other concerts, it will also air live on NBS Television. This is a first as there has never been a live concert done on this channel.

Indeed he has been a man of many firsts from running billboards in the city advertising his album, running adverts on television for his music and now putting up a live show without charging for it.

Why does he do this?

“As a singer, I do not feel like I am working, I feel like I am experiencing life. I do it because I love it. So I’m giving myself out to the world and I don’t feel that i want to charge for my brand yet”.

This is quite an interesting approach to a music career indeed.

“It’s more about the music than the recognition, singing is really a basic need. I continue to sing because there is nothing else in the world that brings me that kind of joy.

So there goes, this Saturday stands to be a test of whether he has got what it takes to move an audience into believing his act.

With Two albums under his belt, a total of 34 songs and 18 videos, it is quite a big collection from which to choose from.

Big Eye StarBoss Stuck In Ugx. 450Million Debt, Tears For Rescue

Published

Find out information about Coronavirus in Uganda. More here.

By BigEyeUg Team; In the face of being one of the most rewarded musicians by the President of Uganda for the past two years, Big Eye feels life is not worth to live.

Even not the recent 10 hybrid cows can console him back to his flamboyant lifestyle.

Apparently, struggling singer Ibrahim Mayanja aka Big Eye StarBoss is out of sorts after accumulating over Shs. 450Million in debts.

In a live Facebook video, the ‘Ndi Single’ singer has cried out his heart to the President of Uganda, H.E YK Museveni, fellow NRM members, and fans at large to redeem his current financial crisis that may ride him into jail.

The self-proclaimed ‘Star Boss’ says he purchased a residential house worth Shs. 460Million but he managed to make an initial deposit of Shs.60Million with hope of mending the balance in the shortest time possible.

On a sad note, all his plans were doomed earlier this year after being pelted with bottles as he was performing live on stage which pursued concert promoters to also shun his bookings.

After mounting unbearable pressure from the bank over the debts, Big Eye’s hopes drained and he resorted to selling his own car which has not also matched the debts to date.

Big Eye also says he has defaulted additional Shs.50Million as rent for the past 6months.

He also notes that he has a limited grace period to make the full payment for the house if he is not ready to lose even the initial deposit of Shs.60Million.

I am left with limited time to complete the house payment or else am likely to lose even the Shs. 60Million that I paid at first,” said Big Eye.

He further claims to have not received any payment from the NRM political party despite offering campaigning services for H.E YK Museveni in the 2010 and 2015 campaigns.

As usual, the singer is receiving severe controversy all over the media as majority ascertain him to be a ‘mere beggar’ who is often drawn to seeking public sympathy, a mark he seems not to be bothered with.
