Uganda is referred to as one of the countries with the best night life in Africa; there are great clubs in major towns across the country, however Ugandan clubs don’t make it on the list of the top 5 clubs in Africa.

The top 5 night destinations in Africa include;

1. Club 31 – Cape Town, South Africa

2. Coconuts – Maputo

3. Mozambique, Nite Shift Coliseum – Lagos, Nigeria

4. The Simba Saloon at Carnivore – Nairobi, Kenya

5. Le Privilege – Lome, Togo

Most night life destinations in Uganda don’t last to celebrate their first anniversary, living only 2 clubs namely Club Silk and Angenoir discotheque, to dominate the entertainment industry in Uganda, but this is not the case in South Africa.

South Africa is one country with many clubs whether you are talking townships or city suburbs, downtown or semi-rural, you will find nightclubs in every South African town and city. Each city has its own identity and a nightlife that reflects this personality, catering for a wide range of musical tastes.

South Africa’s nightclubs offer an excellent example of how the country’s heritage and culture have combined to create a huge range of nightlife entertainment that caters for every taste and style.

When one refers to South Africa as the rainbow nation, one might as well be referring to its many faces of fun as much as it’s ethnic and biodiversity.

These South African nightclubs cater for the entire range of musical and stylistic tastes of South Africans as well as those of the visitors. You will find jazz and salsa clubs next door to a house and clubs playing rock, hip-hop, punk or heavy metal.

Traditional music clubs, pop music clubs, theme bars and retrospective clubs all exist. If you have a special interest, you will find a nightclub catering for it somewhere in South Africa.

Ugandans who intend to invest in night clubs should take a trip to South Africa and learn some tips on how to manage night clubs and bars, in order for them to last on the market.
