South African singer PJ Powers will be performing alongside Uganda’s dynamic duo Radio & Weasel in a charity concert geared towards raising funds to support the empowerment of adolescent girls in Uganda.
Speaking at a press briefing held on Wednesday morning, the singers, who recently collaborated on a single dubbed “Home To Africa,” expressed excitement about the concert and promised to give revelers a memorable evening.
Dubbed “Jabulani Charity Concert”, it is being organised by Girl Up Initiative, a local non-profit organisation that empowers young girls and women to positively impact their communities.
According to the Girl Up Initiative Executive Director, Monica Nyiraguhawa all proceeds from the concert will go towards reaching out to over 12,000 young girls in Uganda.
“Many young Ugandan adolescent girls will be given hope for a more nurturing environment, thanks to this concert.” She added.
The Jabulani Charity Concert will be held on Friday, June 30 at Kampala Serena Hotel.
