South African Airways recently hosted guests from Mauritius and its Consulate in Uganda for a day long business to business engagement.
The event, which was held at the Kampala Serena Hotel started with a business dialogue that included; the Honorable Minister of Tourism and Leisure of Mauritius Hon Anil Kumarsingh Gayan, the Director Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority Mr Arvind Bundhun , the Honorary Consul of Mauritius in Uganda, Dr Amos Nzeyi and the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Tourism Wildlife and Antiquities- Mrs Doreen Katusiime.
The aim of the event was to enable Ugandans to learn more about Mauritius, explore and enjoy what it has to offer, especially in the tourism sector; through discussions, entertainment and showcasing of what they had to offer.
Later in the evening, the group met for a cocktail function to further the agenda of business networking
The MD South African Airways Uganda Yewagnesh Mamo (yogi) Biriggwa opened the cocktail with a warm welcome of the Mauritius team to the Pearl of Africa.
She gave a remarkable speech about the importance of partnerships to grow tourism between the two countries. She also reiterated how South Africa Airways will help people from Uganda to travel to Mauritius in the simplest way possible as one of the best flight service providers in the country.

The travel agents and tour operators, had a very fruitful discussion with the team from Mauritius on how to get Ugandans to visit and enjoy the beauty of Mauritius and vice versa. During the night, South Africa Airways together with the Hoteliers and Destination management companies awarded two lucky winners with Business class tickets to Mauritius.
Mr. Amos Nzeyi, applauded the efforts that the Tourism Ministry of Mauritius had invested in promoting their tourism in Uganda and opening doors for people to tour, do business among other activities in Mauritius.
The Honourable Minister of Tourism and Leisure of Mauritius Hon Anil Kumarsingh Gayan, Thanked all that attended and extended his gratitude to the SouthAfrican Airways who had put the event together to enable ugandans learn more about Mauritius and come visit. The minister was also handed a souvenir gift from thePermanent Secretary Ministry of Tourism Wildlife and AntiquitiesMrs Doreen Katusiime for him to remember his trip to Uganda . Everyone in attendance enjoyed the cocktail and business meeting filled with drinks and eats at the serena grounds. The event was concluded with performances from an entertainment group from Mauritius that excited the attendance beyond expectation
