In the Gabonese capital of Libreville, it was a one-all draw as South Africa’s Bafana Bafana took on the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in an international friendly on Saturday. The game was yet another test for the two teams as they continued with their preparations for the forth coming Africa Cup of Nations that is going to be played in Equatorial Guinea.
The physical advantage of the Indomitable Lions was yet another talking point in a game where they took a lead as early as 7 minutes into the game thanks to the brilliant efforts of Vincent Aboubacar with an exquisitely taken free kick at the edge of the box beating goalkeeper Khuzhwayo.
Bafana Bafana fought hard to keep it at that until half-time to pick more ideas from head coach Shakes Mashaba. Second half substitute Sibusiso Vilakazi fired home in the 77th minute to level matters.
Meanwhile Patrick Phungwayo left the Bafana Bafana camp due to an injury and has been replaced with Orlando Pirates defender Ayanda Gcaba.
Elsewhere, Salomon Kalou scored a late winner for the Elephants of Ivory Coast to edge Nigeria in another 2015 AFCON preparation friendly at Sheikh Zayed Sports City on Sunday.
