Like honey pouring on wet rose petals, Irene Ntale’s sweet voice tickles the soul on this charming tune. “Sembera” is mature sound laced with deeply thought heart warming lyrics from the start to the finish.
The song opens with rather “millennial” kind of lines provoking thoughts of yet another laissez faire, carefree song however this is not a frivolous Irene Ntale song. She demonstrated that she has that touch of gold we have been waiting for. This is progressive touch from the watered down run off songs like Gyobera, Irene moves miles ahead on this song.
Sembera is a kind of song that sandwiches classical Ugandan pop of the late Elly Wamala era with a layer of new catchy band music that grooves lovers.
Soft pulsations of a drum and guitar strings pluck away as Irene sings on and on. She sings in colourful diction about her lover.
Sembera that ushers in a dawn of serene music that is slowly beginning to trend. Positive vibes well crafted to last the times.
Sembera returns the ‘old’ younger Irene Ntale that sang acoustics at Emin Pasha. The Ntale that sang “Rangi Mpya”, well most y’all don’t know that beautiful past. Sembera is simply a glimpse of it. Nice work.
