Ugandan investigative journalist and news anchor, Solomon Serwanjja has quit NBS TV after 6years.
The multi-award-winning journalist announced his last days at the Naguru Hill-based media house on Tuesday in the hours of Tuesday morning.
According to Serwanjja, his official departure from NBS TV has been slated for July 31, 2021.
In a teary tone, Solomon has expressed his gratitude towards his boss Kin Kariisa and colleagues for cherishing him throughout his stay at Next Media.
Serwanjja’s next destination is at the African Institute for Investigative Journalism where he has been assigned a role as the Executive Director.
The African Institute for Investigative Journalism (AIIJ) is a media organization focused on providing investigative journalism a home.
“On 31st July, I will be leaving NBS TV. It has been such an honour to serve for the last 6 years. Thank you, Kin Kariisa and the entire Next Media family, for the support. I will now focus on my new role as the Executive Director African Institute for Investigative Journalism, the home of investigative journalism,” Solomon Serwanja stated on his social media.
Solomon Serwanjja’s journey at Next Media has been such an adorable one with a number of awards scooped in his favor.
Some of these include; BBC Komlar dumour award, Vine Awards Academy, and many more.
This comes in almost two months ever since he graduated with a Master’s Degree in Journalism and Communication from Makerere University alongside his colleague Mable Twegumye.
