Mawogola constituency is strong firm their newy elected NRM representative Aine Godfrey Kaguta a.k.a SODO will be locking horns with other party Representatives in he forthcoming Member of parliament elections. Despite the ongoing rumor of a petition by fellow party member Shartsi Musherure, all odds suggest there may not be another by-election.
On 30th September, Aine Godfrey Kaguta a.k.a SODO won the NRM Party Primary in Mawogola North Constituency to be the official flag bearer in the forthcoming 2021 general elections. He saw off stiff competition from Shartsi Musherure.
Shartsi Musherure was never convinced with Sodo’s win and she therefore petitioned the results to NRM Central Executive Committee[CEC] to revoke Sodo’ win.
The CEC promised to give a ruling; but before the ruling comes in, Shartsi Musherure’s team is already coming up with false news that Aine Godfrey Kaguta’s win in the NRM Party Primaries as flag bearer for Mawogola North has been revoked.
NRM’s CEC has not yet come up with any official ruling regarding Shartsi’s petition. And chances are high that Sodo’s win will be upheld since Electoral Commission nominations for Members of Parliament ends tomorrow, so there will be no time to hold another election within the party to get a flag bearer.
