Ugandan musician Sister Charity has opened up about one of the darkest chapters of her life — her divorce from fellow artist Rasta Charz, whom she was with for over a decade.

Charity revealed that she and Charz began their relationship in 2003, bonding through music and later starting a family together. However, their union came to an end in 2014, a moment she describes as deeply painful.
Speaking about the breakup, Charity recalled how Charz publicly announced the separation on Facebook, stating that he had decided to divorce her because she was allegedly no longer respecting him.
“Charz wrote on Facebook and posted that he had reached a point of divorcing me because apparently I wasn’t respecting him anymore. I said, it’s what it is,” she painfully shared.
The singer explained that although they had not been officially married, their long-term relationship felt like marriage as they lived together, made music, and had children.
“We actually hadn’t officially married but we got close doing music together and got involved in a long-term relationship. I didn’t introduce him to my parents but we walked life together and gave birth to children too,” she revealed.
Charity said she eventually chose to walk away because she couldn’t stay in a relationship where she felt unwanted.
