The latest news reaching our desk indicates that local musician Stecia Mayanja’s company known as Spema Uganda International Limited has been closed over human trafficking.
The company’s license was recently revoked by officials from the Ministries of Labour and that of Internal Affairs, together with three other travel companies that include Migro Opportunity limited, Oasis External Employment Agency, and Al-salaam logistics consultancy.
According to Moses Binoga, the National Coordinator Anti Human Trafficking Task force, the companies were involved in dubious deals that involved trafficking people and later selling them for labor abroad.
He further revealed that only travel 36 companies have been licensed to operate and went ahead to caution the public against being fleeced by the blacklisted companies.
