Last night, ‘lusuku lwa cement’ singer Ronald Alimpa survived a fatal accident while traveling to Semuto where he had been booked to perform for revellers there.
The accident left Alimpa’s lower limbs severely injured.
A team of several other people were also on board including’Layila’ singer Lady Grace who unfortunately wasn’t able to make it through the night, also Kabuye Saudi, a solo guitarist died on spot.
The exact cause of the accident has not yet been established, it is however alleged that while rushing to the venue, the car hit a pothole and overturned after its driver lost control cruising into a nearby swamp.
It is said that the car harbored around six people and with two now dead, a total of around four are being attended to at Mulago referral Hospital where traditional singer Hassan Nduga drove them to in the wee hours of the night.
The latter came across the victims as he drove back to Kampala after he had finalized with performance at the same venue the former were driving to. He with the help of his team, managed to fit all the injured in his car and drove them off to the hospital to seek medical attention.
“By the time we put Lady Grace in the car, it seemed like she was already dead, but on our way here, she gave us signs that she was still fighting to keep her life, unfortunately when we reached here, she failed to make it,” Ndugga commented while at the hospital.
He also called upon the families of Alimpa’s closest people to rush and see their people who are not in the best of shape.
A number of artists like Fik Fameika, Zex Bilangilangi, Eddy Kenzo have come across many unfortunate on-the-road scenes over the past years, though many have managed to make it through.
We pray that the injured manage to make it through. Rest in Peace Lady Grace and all that lost their lives in the accident.
