NACADA board member, Water Ambassador and a philanthropy champion, Kenyan singer Jaguar recently put smiles on the faces of Maasai Village residents after commissioning a 20 meter long foot bridge that he solely funded. The ‘Kigeugeu’ singer who is known for his big heart and a giving hand decided to come through for Maasai Village residents this festive season by funding and finally commissioning a footbridge that will enable the slum dwellers to cross Nairobi River.
Jaguar officially opened the footbridge last weekend to the public who thanked him for the wonderful ‘Christmas present’. Some of them asked him to vie for the Member of Parliament seat in the area so that he can help them even more. The bridge will be of great help to the area residents since the river has claimed numerous lives especially during rainy seasons.
Speaking to journalists moments after commissioning the footbridge, Jaguar said he was not doing the projects for political mileage but because he really values the residents.
‘’I wasn’t doing this for political millage but as someone who has the residents close to his heart. I know how much the residents have suffered and even lost loved ones and it is for this reason that I decided to assist by funding the bridge.’’ He said.
