Singer Flona, real name Florence Nankinga, broke down in tears during a live interview on Sanyuka TV after being accused of having relationships with sugar daddies to fund her lifestyle.
Flona appeared as a guest on the station’s popular talk show Crossfire, hosted by Macona Brian. What was expected to be a routine interview quickly spiraled into an emotional confrontation when Macona claimed on air that Flona’s music career, housing, car, and overall lifestyle were allegedly being financed by wealthy older men.
Visibly shaken and overwhelmed, Flona pleaded with the host to retract the statements, warning of the damage such allegations could do to her career and public image.
“This is enough. We work so hard for our brands,” she said while falling to her knees. “I want to kneel down for you and clear my name before people out there who might believe you. People out there take everything said here seriously.”
The singer also expressed how painful it is to have her reputation questioned after working so hard in a cutthroat industry.
“Not everyone is happy with your success. I’m somewhere in music. If it wasn’t for music, I wouldn’t be here with you. I’m someone that is down to earth, but you take my calmness for granted.”
Following the emotional outburst and visible breakdown, the show was cut short and did not continue.
