Ugandan music is well on the path to maturity as more artistes look to bigger media platforms to broadcast their music. Gone are days when you would tune in to music platforms like Channel O, MTV, Trace TV, you name it and all you would see were South African and Nigerian videos.
Local artistes have since learnt the power of a good video and tend to take time with their music. And the results often times are simply amazing.
One singer following in these footsteps is songstress Ekky, most widely known for her second single “Nzijukira” which was released early last year. Ekky who released a follow up single titled “Breaking Free” just about a month or so back has already worked on its video which is set to exclusively premiere on MTV base this week.
“*VIDEO ALERT* I’m ecstatic to announce the premier of the BREAKING FREE video this Wednesday between 9am and 11am on MTV Base.. tune in!” She revealed.
Being managed by Konektor who aims at getting Ugandan music to the global level, this video is 100% Ugandan having been shot and edited in Uganda by Joshua Mwesigwa, a Ugandan videographer better known as Josh The-Fixer from Raising The Bar.
“Breaking Free” is the third single off Ekky’s upcoming debut Album “African Love Story”.
