Award‑winning singer and Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) president Eddy Kenzo has broken his silence on why he chose to distance himself from Bobi Wine and the National Unity Platform (NUP), stating that his decision was not political but rooted in pragmatism and personal responsibility.

In a recent YouTube interview, Kenzo said that aligning with Bobi Wine would not contribute to his ability to provide for his family or propel his music career forward.
“If I were to support him, in which position would I be? Where would I be eating? I have children, a wife, and a family to take care of. If I join him, which office would I occupy? Why doesn’t he leave his seat for me and support me? That’s when you know it’s for him, not for me,” Kenzo asked.
